RUS’ STORY

People—though hardly deserving of the name—bought Rus, a beautiful Russian Blue cat, and then, as soon as he turned one year old, simply threw him out onto the street. Confused and frightened, he wandered until he found a neighborhood where he tried to survive. He slept in a gutter, hidden from the rain and cold, and ate only what he managed to find in dumpsters. Once a beloved house pet, used to warmth and safety, he suddenly had to fight for every single day. His story is a sad picture of irresponsibility, but also proof of how much a gentle creature can endure in the hope that someone will accept him again.
