The cats are out of the box! We had another life-saving mission yesterday! During a casual walk in the woods with her dogs, one of the Pet Mondo members, found three kittens, less than two months old, dumped on remote location. The kittens were left in a sealed shoe-box, with no access to food or water.
“There is no excuse for people leaving defenseless animals in boxes or tethered in the burning sun, with no regard, or at least, no understanding, of the impact the heat, stress and lack or air flow has on the animals,” says Mila Rajkovic, Founder and Chairman of Pet Mondo, who rescued the kittens.
“This happens over and over again. Many times, like in this case of the kittens dumped here, these animals are in critical condition — frantic, panting, dehydrated and close to having seizures from their horrific ordeal. We hope that the efforts of our veterinary partner will be successful in saving them,” she added.
It is early to say, but so far, these efforts are paying off. All of the baby cats, two males and one female, are all in better health two days after being dumped. Obviously, things could have easily gone another way for these innocent animals if the spent even a few more minutes in the box.
